On 6th August 2025, members of the Wembley Day Centre set off on a lively and heartwarming visit to the Leicester Mandhata Senior Citizen Luncheon Club. The gathering took place at the welcoming Shree Mandhata Samaj Sahayak Mandal Hall on Hartington Road, Leicester.
A cheerful coachload of 53 guests from Wembley joined more than 150 Leicester members for a day filled with camaraderie and celebration. Guests were warmly welcomed with tea and biscuits, accompanied by introduction speeches from Babubhai R. Patel on behalf of Leicester and Pushpaben Patel on behalf of Wembley.
Soon after, everyone enjoyed a sumptuous vegetarian feast, lovingly prepared by the Mandhata Leicester Senior Citizen Luncheon Club, with creamy ice cream providing the perfect sweet finale.
Following the meal, the atmosphere brimmed with joy as the occasion was celebrated with musical entertainment by Minaben. The ladies added extra sparkle with lively rounds of antakshari and graceful garba dancing, filling the hall with music, rhythm, and laughter.
Later, a final serving of afternoon tea brought the day to a gentle close before the Wembley group boarded their coach back to London—hearts full, spirits high, and memories made.
The Mandhata Senior Citizen Luncheon Club in Leicester has been a cherished community tradition for 25 years, meeting every other Wednesday. With an average of 100 attendees, it offers senior citizens a vibrant space to enjoy their retirement years, reconnect with friends, and share moments of joy, conversation, and togetherness.
